This week on a very special Steve Earle Show, hear Steve's interview with Dick Cavett, whom he spoke with last year about his life in TV and his seminal TV show from 1969-74 on ABC, one of the few TV shows of its time to showcase many of the most creative and influental musicians, artists and intellectuals of that time.  The music here is drawn from live performances on a newly released set of DVDs of the Dick Cavett Show.  Before hosting his own show, Cavett was a writer for Jack Paar and Johnny Carson and continued to do television through the 1990's.
