CAn't wait to hear Gore's comments on the idea of letting Gates continue as Sec. of Defense.
Also, his ideas on WPA type efforts to get this economy starting...such as new railroads, get our crumbling infrastructure improved. And how do we get decent teachers in our public schools? The horrible salary they're paid needs to be improved, but also the standards to which they are held. The dumbing down of our educational system has led to the hideous peasant like ignorance of our citizenry. That has to be stopped at the root. But how? Good question for my idol, Gore Vidal.

Since I'm not facile enough to have any confidence that I can get to the phone line speedily, could you ask Dr. Vidal (I'm sure he must have an honorary Ph.D. from somewhere, if Denis Leary has one) the following: "Thousands of us have been in the streets, in our representatives' offices, in the jails for 8 years protesting our savage invasion of foreign countries, country de jeur, Iraq, Afghanistan and next, Iran. The Main Street Media, including NPR, ignores us or uses the same condescending verbage to describe the 'disappointing numbers' without a hint of our messages (as diverse as there are protesters). How can we get Obama's attention ..... and I'm sounding like I'm asking for Quid Pro Quo....... most of us who worked so hard for his election pressure his administration to get us the Hell out of those countries where we are fomenting more terrorism?
