Michelle Obama Nailed It

What an amazing speech by Michelle Obama. She managed to convey her personal story, which includes some potentially maudlin highlights, in a direct and inspiring way, without getting the least bit treacly. She, and her brother and mother presented a thoroughly American portrait that puts to shame those in the media who have suggested she was something “other”. She reminded us why people have been so excited about Barack Obama. It was masterful. Keith Olbermann is right to get a little sycophantic, as he put it. Media pieces like this and the “joking” New Yorker cover did a disservice to the person we saw tonight. I think this puts to rest any residual claim that she For once I agree with Harold Ford–this speech made me proud to be part of this country.
I’m looking forward to the rest of this convention.
