How it reads:
On paper, this campaign looks fairly standard. Obama, an Illinois Democrat, is staunchly in favor of abortion rights, while McCain, an Arizona Republican, has compiled a solid record over four Senate terms of opposing abortion.
How it should read:
On paper, this campaign looks fairly standard. Obama, an Illinois Democrat, is staunchly in favor of abortion rights, while McCain, an Arizona Republican, has compiled a solid record over four Senate terms of opposing abortion rights.
It's a subtle difference that makes all the difference in the world. It would be more obvious if it said:
Obama, an Illinois Democrat, is staunchly in favor of abortion.
That would be a profoundly inaccurate and unfair way of characterizing Obama's position. The decision to exise the word 'rights' from what McCain has opposed over four terms in the Senate is equally inaccurate and distorting.

Joe Lieberman... Our United States Senator from the great state of... Isreal.
Who's he kidding.
Lieberman is intentionally and willfully putting the national interests of Isreal before the national interests of the United States... I don't forgive that.
I have always been, and remain a supporter of Isreal as the only democracy in the region and as a check against anti-U.S. elements in the region... But not to the point that I put THEIR interests before those of my country and fellow citizens.
Fuck Joe Lieberman.
