Indeed, the Offshore Oil Drilling is not McCain original IDEA, and the speaker Pelosi is very right to call it a HOAX or DECOY. One of the dishonest GOP Machine creations. I am really proud of Mrs Pelosi for refusing to play their dirty game.
The idea was suggest by Bill O'Reilly of Fox News during a his TV show in the week of June 09 to June 13, 2008. I forget the exact day.
In that show, Bill Oreilly asked the former House speaker Newt Gingrich this: “IF YOU WERE McCAIN, WHAT WOULD YOU DO TO GET PEOPLE COME TO YOU?”. His guest answered this:”I WOULD TALK ABOUT OFFSHORE OIL DRILLING, AND PEOPLE WOULD BE EXCITING BECAUSE OF GAS PRICE, SO SIMPLE”.
After two days, McCain started to talk about this drill issue. After two more days, Bush also picked up the issue and started to campaign for McCain by pushing this issue.
In fact, they did not have any plan concerning this drill issue, and they do not have any. It is just something suggested by Bill O’Reilly and Newt Gingrich. Just a dishonest strategy, so they can get people’s mind. What is sad, is that Bush has been using the office of presidency for the campaign of McCain about this "fictive drilling". Also, the clowns of GOP in congress are pushing this bill in the name American people. This is cynical because I do not recall that the GOP also worry about American people after what they have done to us during this past 8 years.
I will suggest Obama campaign to go the Fox News record and find that O'Reilly show, they can present it to the voters. It would ridicule them, and such shameless behavior would be a real scandal.
