Actually, this blog (a handful of trolls aside) is amazingly civil and intelligent compared to, say, BuzzFlash's blogs which are just annoying anymore.

As for the clip itself - Rachel's been saying this on MSNBC every chance she gets...but nobody outside of Keith Olbermann (occasionally) seems to be listening. They're all sure they know McCain - and besides, he's an old White Dude and a War Hero (Hero: see "victim") to boot, not some strange skinny young uppity Black kid w/a charismatic speaking style (racist code words fully intentional).

Fact is, it's the MSM that's scared of The Outsider Obama more than most of Middle America - who know him just fine, thanks. He's the Young Black Professional who might irritate you a bit in the grocery store line - but is just who you want in your corner when your union's contract is up, some religioso nutter on the school board is trying to ban Harry Potter for "Satanic messages", you're in the ER with your thumb cut clean through, or you're pleading a drunk driving charge. Maybe there aren't that many YBPs on the Beltway (or that many high up the food chain enough for the poobahs to notice), but out past the Beltway Bubble they are as much part of the "normal Americans" as the White blue-collar workers Hillary pandered to during the Democratic nomination - and those are the people Obama's reaching out to with his Father's Day speech, proposed revamp of Rove's "Fucking Faith-Based Thing"...and yes, even his ultimate FISA cave.... ::sigh::
