July 27, 2008: Rachel Maddow; Eric Boehlert; Farron Cousins; and your calls

By David Bender

This week I'll talk to Rachel Maddow about the race to the White House.  Then in the 2nd hour, Eric Boehlert joins me to talk about the media coverage of the two candidates.  Then in the last hour, Farron Cousins comes on to talk about The National Enquirer's coverage of John Edwards.  All that and your calls throughout the show, 866-303-2270.

McCain blames Americans First

McCain in his speech on Friday 7/25 sounded like he was laying the responsibility for the Iraq debacle at the feet of the American people. Something like "presidents don't lose wars, nations lose wars".

I just about puked.

This is outrageous and he should be called out by every journalist over this. It smacks of the "Stab-in-the-back legend" the Nazis used after World War One to explain away German WW I defeat, and is probably what McCain secretly believes (wrongly) about Vietnam.

(Another commenter rightly pointed out yet another similarity on an earlier thread, that "... After Hitler started losing WWII, and before he shot himself in the bunker, he stated that the German people were too weak to accomplish the goals he had set for it,...")

Someone must call him out on this non-sense.

Please David, Rachel, et al., don't let this slide under the rug. This is big enough to still bring up today, Monday, on "Race for the White House".
