VIDEO: Barack Obama's Berlin Speech
Speaking at the foot of the Victory Column in the German capital the Democratic presidential nominee told the cheering crowd that the world "cannot afford to be divided" and held out the concept of a planet free of nuclear weapons.

And as in Seattle...
the "crowd" was enticed to attend by giving a free concert by a very popular rock band (a little insurance for a crowd, I wager...).
I guess the Obamessiah didn't want to descend from on high and only have a measly Rent-a-Mob waiting for him, huh.
