News:
Less than a week after President Bush emphatically told the nation that “we’re winning” in Iraq, the U.S. military announced the combat death of a Marine in Anbar province, bringing the death toll for October to 100. It has been the deadliest month for American troops in Iraq in almost two years. Meanwhile, in Baghdad, at least 28 civilians were killed and 60 wounded by an explosion in a predominantly Shiite district. Many of those caught in the blast were laborers gathered to wait for job offers.

You just gotta love Republicans and their phoney moral outrage. George Allen as the next President? That's got to be the silliest notion I've read of late. Allen will be lucky to survive his Senate race. His aspiration for a presidential bid are finished. What exactly was he arrested for in '74. Seems Virginians care a bit more about that than a bunch of whiney Republicans complaining about passages in a book that John McCain endorsed and the USMC lists in its professional reading program.
