"The Rubbles" (sic)
On September 2nd last year, President Bush embarassed himself and the country by casting his imperial eye over the death and destruction caused by Hurricane Katrina, and pronouncing himself concerned… about the porch on one of Trent Lott’s houses:
Out of the rubbles of Trent Lott's house -- he's lost his entire house -- there's going to be a fantastic house. And I'm looking forward to sitting on the porch.
This time around he’s trying to EXORCISE the ghosts of last year’s political disaster. By casting an eye over the Gulf Coast disaster area, a full year after the storm, and pronouncing himself concerned… once again… about Trent Lott’s porch:
United States Senator Trent Lott had a fantastic house overlooking the bay. I know because I sat in it with he and his wife. And now it's completely obliterated. There's nothing. And I remember coming down here -- these giant piles of debris were here.
Good to see we're making some progress on the whole "President in the bubble" problem.

Trent's little "joke" at Strom Thurmond's birthday bash--applauding the old segregationist party-- kind of took on a more serious and ominous tone in the aftermath of Katrina.

"Oh look, a birdie!" What is he looking at? I guess as long as Bush isn't looking at reality (distruction of the Gulf Coast BESIDES Trent's porch), everything is just fine.
Also, would someone PLEASE tell him it is pronounced HELP not HEP? That drove me crazy during the timeline yesterday.
Great show as always staff of TRMS.
