Today on Lionel - Wednesday May 21st

By LionelShow

In the third hour, filmmaker Josh Gilbert will join us in the studio to discuss his critically acclaimed documentary a/k/a Tommy Chong. Mr. Chong himself will be on the line to walk us through his treatment at the hands of a boneheaded American drug policy. After this three-way interview, you’ll have this question to mull over: is the War on Drugs even more useless and poorly conducted than the War on Terror?

ON LIONEL’S MIND

Senator Ted Kennedy has been diagnosed with a potentially inoperable brain tumor, sending shockwaves of genuine non-partisan concern across Capitol Hill. Kennedy’s 46 years representing Massachusetts in the Senate have left an indelible mark on American politics, and friends and enemies alike expressed their respect for the prolific legislator and his legendary family.

Happy to capitalize on the grief and shock of a concerned nation, Michael Savage pulled a distasteful stunt entirely befitting his role as Right-Wing Asshat. Limbaugh and Hannity can be provocative idiots at times, but Michael Savage really takes the cake for on-air hate.

Someone over at the Grey Lady was listening to the Lionel Show yesterday. An Op-Ed in today’s New York Times picks up where our intrepid host left off, enumerating the potential threats to free speech posed by the Supreme Court’s recent decision regarding child pornography.

FROM THE ENDLESS CAMPAIGN

Obama won.

Hillary won.

Let’s all go for ice cream!

No, but seriously. They both won, but…both of them lost, sort of. I mean, the thing is…Obama has the lead, but Hillary has the…lead…in some…white people like her better, or some whites do, or…somebody get me some Nuprin.

IN THE MELANGE

GET A LOAD OF THIS GUY! In honor of Mr. Chong (not to mention Doobie), we present you with a man who tried to pay for his munchies with marijuana. Unfortunately for our drug-addled hero, the guy in line behind him was a cop. They’re, like, everywhere, man!!!

Start spreading the news – there’s a burger in New York City that’ll run you $175. To be fair, it’s really good. Burp.

All that and much, much more…on today’s turgid Lionel Show.

FOR A GOOD TIME CALL 866 303 2270!!! ASK FOR DERM!

OR LEAVE US A MESSAGE ON THE DRUNK DIAL LINE AT 212 871 8283.

Lionel! You gotta hear this guy!

If only you could argue as eloquently. were you impressed or what?

Wow. Says it ALL!

A dumb question(or 2 or 5,6,7), perhap, sorry : (

Is there really any point to Scalia's argument regarding torture or punishment? Regardless of how Scalia dodges any connection between torture and punishment, how is that kind of treatment not just wrong as some kind of assault or brutality? Does interrogation allow for that kind of treatment? Is the assumed gain of knowledge the loophole thru all things can pass? Do you lose all your rights once you're imprisoned? Since your being imprisoned is what provides them the opportunity to interrogate you etc. Does that not make your treatment while there a subset of the punishment? Or is the imprisonment not technically the punishment? Considering that they hold people under the assumption that they are a threat(from what I understand) as opposed to a clear wrong doing are they not punishing them but rather containing them?

I'm not trying to make a case favor of it, but it seems like the whole point is to drive in circles til you can't find a start or end point. I'm just trying to get ahead of the chase.

On another note: Thanks for playing "If I had a Boat". I picked a Lyle CD today just for that song.

Bitching about Olbermann AGAIN?

I was here for your debut on AirAmerica, I adore you! But...

Will you chill out and get over Olbermann? Olbermann is not our problem, your attitude is our problem. You need to take an antihistamine against this allergy you call Keith Olbermann. Lionel, it more and more resembles obsession.

Saying he's outFauxed Faux is really OVER THE TOP. (I'm frowning, can you tell?) That statement is equally obnoxious and desperate when compared to Hillary invoking Karl Rove's approval and support. Do you see it? I do, and many of your fans do. Please reconsider, if you can't reconsider, just shut the hell up about Olbermann. Thanks, love ya.

How do you spell VIRUS?

Buchanan's links.........I wouldn't touch'em if I were you!

Buyers beware!

Lame, lame, lame.

Do you think ALL of Lionel's viewers are idiots?

I guess you do.
