Using iTunes for Air America Podcasts

1. Go to the Air America Home Page

2. Make sure you are logged-in correctly.

Look at the yellow box at the right of the main menu. If you need to log in, please do so. Then click the words "My Account." and make sure you have access to download the show you want.

login

Clicking on "My Account" will let you know if you are using a working username. In the picture below, you can see that user "aarsupport" has access to download and podcast all shows (#1) and that he/she has an active membership (#2). If your account is listed as non-active, email me, and we can investigate the matter.

If you can't log-in correctly, or you forgot your password, email me, and I'll send you a new password.

If you aren't an OnDemand (formerly "Premium") member, you can see the subscription options here.

Some shows are free to podcast and download, and some are not. Check out this list to see which shows are free and which aren't.

3. Click the "Podcasts/On Demand" button in the main menu.

Clicking here will take you to the OnDemand page. From this page, you will be able to download, stream or podcast all Air America shows and some clips as well.

4. Select the name of the show you want from the drop-down box. For this example, we'll use "The Rachel Maddow Show," but the process is the same for all other shows.

5. Find a "Full Show," not a clip. "Full Shows" will say "Full Show" in the upper right corner of the picture, and in the description below the picture, too.

6. Beneath a "Full Show" listing for the show you want, click the little icon of an iPod. Click it normally. DO NOT right-click or cntrl+click.

7. A little balloon will pop-up. Click the word 'iTunes." Click it normally. DO NOT right-click or cntrl+click.

8. Let's check iTunes to see if Rachel's show is now listed. Click the word "podcast" in the library column (1). We can see that Rachel's show is now listed in the podcast area of iTunes (3). If it is not showing up for you, please email me, and I can help you manually add it.

You can now use iTunes to automatically download Rachel's show. Repeat this process for each show you wish to download via iTunes. If you need help using iTunes to download, see part two of this guide.
