Details are still sketchy, but this just in from the Hollywood Reporter:
Barack Obama has purchased a half-hour of airtime on CBS, sources
confirm. The Obama campaign will air a half-hour primetime special on
Wednesday, Oct. 29, at 8 p.m.Sources say the Obama camp is also in talks with NBC and Fox. NBC
is said to be very near a deal. With Fox, the matter is likely to

Bravo!
Something tells me this will be one of the most interesting months of my 52 years in America. I hate to imagine what else the neo cons are willing to do to keep their agenda moving forward.

".....I hate to imagine what else the neo cons are willing to do to keep their agenda moving forward."
Gosh, is there anything left for them to steal??
[I mean besides the election, which has already begun with the unusually high numbers of voters being purged.]

By Pookie2112October 9, 2008 - 5:00pmGood one, Barack!
Or whoever in his campaign made that decision. Very smart to put the media to work.
If you'll remember 2004, the FOX network literally forced its affiliates to pre-empt much more lucrative programming to show a fawning, one-hour Bush infomercial. And let's not forget the Sinclair stations, ordered to blow off their programming (and profits) in order to air an anti-Kerry commercial just before the election. About time the Dems turned the tables.

By GabnxeOctober 9, 2008 - 5:53pmI hope he lays out his economic plan
I said to a friend yesterday that he should take the time to explain his entire economic plan. She said there's not time. I said, he should just do it and let the pundits chop it into sound bites. I even sent an email to Claire McCaskill (she's my local Senate Rep) asking her to tell him to do this!
After seeing the post where he's already got an elaborate outline for his transition team, I sure hope he's going to take the time to give the details of his economic plans. I think it would be the bold, outside the box type of leadership we need and would do more for the country than anything else he could do.

Join them! I bet quite a few minds will be enlightened by this brilliant move. Go Obama, you have truth on your side.

The bulk of the special IMHO, should be about the things that affect our lives the most right now. One is the economy. Obama should lay out his plan for job growth, the mortgage crisis, and how he's going to prevent CEOs and bigtime brokers from walking off with our pensions. Then, health care. No American should have to use ER as their childrens' pediatrician. Thanks to 25 years of republican greed, self-righteousness, and cruelty, the great American middle class, the class that built this nation, is sliding into the underclass. I think if Obama reaches viewers with his ideas for rescuing the middle class, he will end up with even higher poll numbers.
What he should NOT do, is apologize for anyone he may have met or sat under in church. When Kerry started apologizing, that was the beginning of the end. Make McCain apologize for a few things like, why would he keep our young people at war for a hundred years?

By f u bush2October 9, 2008 - 7:55pmMeanwhile...Palin to appear on SNL
Live, from New York, it's Caribou Barbie!
They should convince her that every new SNL guest has to play in a "Mr. Bill" sketch. She might be dumb enough to forget they haven't done one since the 80s.
"Oh nooo Mr. Hands, my poll numbers are way way down!"
"That's OK, Saint Sarah. We've called in Spin Doctor Sluggo!"
"OH-NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!"

By scottso360October 9, 2008 - 10:58pmMOST IMPORTANT FIRST BILL!!!
Hey...
I think that the MOST important thing that Obama should deal with
(and I think he will have a lot of "capital" (as Georgie calls it) because of the shit hole the USA is sliding into is:
Take the $$$ out of campaigns and make them fully publicly financed!!!
This will "castrate" the corrupt and treacherous lobbyists in one simple move!
Take the legs right out from under them!!!
Imagine then those running for office can concentrate on helping run the country for the people instead of worrying how much $$$ they will get to campaign...from the lobbyists to which much assss must be kissed...and holiday golf junkets be taken...etc!!
If you agree with this point, please try to get it out there! Pass this idea around...
I think it would be a most effective and direct way to handle the corporate corruption that is strangling the country! And then force the TV network to stage real debates on the FREE public airwaves...and curb or stop the lying info-mercials full of sound bites that mean nothing!!
What's so funny about peace, Love and Understanding????
