VIDEO: Barack Obama's Berlin Speech

By Dorsey Shaw

Speaking at the foot of the Victory Column in the German capital the Democratic presidential nominee told the cheering crowd that the world "cannot afford to be divided" and held out the concept of a planet free of nuclear weapons.

I'M INSULTED!!!!!!

Peace to you in the name of Obama the Merciful...

He gave a speech in Germany...IN ENGLISH...How dare he!!!! We're supposed to be speaking in their language...the Obamessiah is embarrassed that we don't know foreign languages and that THEY have to learn OUR language! That racist fuck!

Also, apparently the US isn't big enough anymore...he stated that he came not as a candidate but as a Citizen of the World. I guess he's now running for world leader, huh!

65% of the Germans have said they would vote for him...but they can't...yet!

I wish he would have proclaimed "Ich bin ein Berliner"...He would be calling himself a jelly doughnut!

By mendar July 24, 2008 - 2:13pm

Whatever language you choose to say it in, it all translates into the same thing.
Say it with me now: "President Obama"

Practice makes perfect...

At least he actually knows how to speak the English language

Has Bush decided to take that remedial English class that Laura recommended? She and Condi are getting tired of reading "The Pet Goat" to him at bedtime!

Yeah

I can tell you're one of those arrogant ignorant uneducated people who go to other countries and declare "how DARE you not speak English". You want people to speak English even in their homeland!!! Get over yourself. The entire planet isn't yours. Go learn another language so you can raise your IQ up a notch and not be so ignorant as to vote for someone who doesn't even know his geography.

Well, if mentard ever becomes educated

he won't vote republican anymore, will he?

Police estimate that Obama gave his speech in front of more than 200,000 people. http://www.spiegel.de/ Not bad considering most of his audience were not native English speakers.

Check out this slideshow (http://www.spiegel.de/fotostrecke/fotostrecke-33614.html) from Obama's trip to Berlin.
My favorites are # 18 (Obamafest), and #22 (The lone voice in the wilderness, i.e. a McCain supporter in Berlin).

It's going to be interesting to see the reaction of those Germans who watched his speech.

Of course we can't forget about McSame, not to be outdone by Obama's trip to Europe, and his speech in Berlin, I heard that Johnny went to a German restaurant in Ohio today...

I bet...

After "negotiating" for favors in prison, he's real good at sucking down those long...fat...hard...bratwurst, wink wink, say no more, nudge nudge.

And as in Seattle...

the "crowd" was enticed to attend by giving a free concert by a very popular rock band (a little insurance for a crowd, I wager...).

I guess the Obamessiah didn't want to descend from on high and only have a measly Rent-a-Mob waiting for him, huh.

Free Beer and Brats go a long way!

Coincidence? You be the judge.

Peace be onto you in the name of Obama the Merciful!

Prove it, Jacob

BTW, just why aren't you in the army anymore?

Your desperation and fear is absolutely breathtaking....not to mention very amusing. You have such a low opinion of human nature that you actually think that the only reason to show up for an event is for a free beer and a dog? And that will ensure that they will turn out in masses? TOO FUNNY! Maybe it's only because that's true of you and your low-life, freebie sponging, friends. Your type would mud-wrestle in dog-poo if there were something free in it for you. NEWS FLASH!!: Normal people aren't wired that way!

BTW....any links to back up that claim???

Did you notice McCain's flip-flop on this trip?

He had it on his web site that Obama should go over to the middle east. The truth is Obama had already gone previously. But McCain was mocking him for not going.

Now McCain is itching about him going.

Republicans are just whiners. That's the only explanation.

Yeah, talk about flip-flops...

Now, the Obamessiah (Obama be praised) INTRODUCED the troop surge and scrubbed the misinformation about his opposing it from his website (the misquotes were probably implanted there by agents of Goldstein!)

Goldstein?

Most of your posts are just plain lies meant to get the conversation distracted.

I didn't see that on Obama's site. I'm guessing your are lying again as usual.

But back to my comment. McCain went so far as to have a clock on his web site counting how long it had been since he suggested Obama go to the middle east. He was criticizing Obama for not going. Only that was another lie because Obama had gone already. Now Obama has gone and the criticism from McCain is all about the trip being political. McCain flip-flopped. Oh and the clock is gone from Mccain's site.

This is almost as good as your silliness regarding Hillary's Iraq vote, FACTME.

We know what O'Brien did to ya, little guy. Ignorance is NOT strength. Why he would bother with such an obviously dumb prole is beyond me.

George W. & George H.W. Bush - Living proof that the dumbshit doesn't fall far from the dumbass.

Now isn't that funny?

Hatey gets the boot and Jacob shows up next day. Almost as if they...HAD THE SAME BOSS?!?

God, you're an ass (although

God, you're an ass (although you are correct in your translation of the much lauded but inaccurate Kennedy pronouncement, but you're still an ass)

Next time try something original

"Ich bin ein Berliner" debunked.

Aww, poor gaydar. Another perfectly good Talking Point shot full of holes. Now you'll have to wait until the drug addict's next show to get some new ones.

Speaking of the drug addict, did anyone happen to catch his show a while back, when he had a black caller and told him to "take the bone out of his nose and call back"? Given the uproar around Imus' "nappy headed ho" comment, how did the drug addict manage to keep HIS air slot?

I would love to watch these trolls tell a German, in their best German, "I am an American" ("Ich bin einen Amerikaner" or "Ich bin eine Amerikanerin"). See my post above, the one with the picture of an "American." Of course it's a none issue, because the person and the pastry are both "Americans"; the word is not mutually exclusive. Kennedy WAS correct, but it still can make one chuckle.

Wasn’t it refreshing to

Wasn’t it refreshing to see an American Politician so well received? After the last eight years maybe we can actually regain respect throughout the International Community by again being able to have a Statesman that can project the idealism and vision for better International Community. One that will project an persona of intellectualism rooted in the vision of our inception, “all men are created equal…..”

“In this new world, such dangerous currents have swept along faster than our efforts to contain them. That is why we cannot afford to be divided. No one nation, no matter how large or powerful, can defeat such challenges alone. None of us can deny these threats, or escape responsibility in meeting them. Yet, in the absence of Soviet tanks and a terrible wall, it has become easy to forget this truth. And if we’re honest with each other, we know that sometimes, on both sides of the Atlantic, we have drifted apart, and forgotten our shared destiny.” Barack Obama = July 25, 2008 Berlin, Germany

We must protect the vote; there is no way that this race is as close as they are projecting it to be on Network Polls.

http://sohighabove.blogspot.com

The race is not close

Grandpa wins in a landslide. Do not be so naive.

Please don't refer to Obama as "Grandpa"...he's not THAT old

Election 2008
RCP National Average : Obama 46.0, McCain 42.0 (Obama +4.0)
Favorable Ratings: Obama +22.7, McCain +18.6 (Obama +4.1)
Intrade Market Odds: Obama 63.2, McCain 32.3

Electoral College
RCP Electoral Count: Obama 238, McCain 163, Toss Ups 137
No Toss Up States: Obama 322, McCain 216

Looks like the landslide's bringing YOU down...

You are from Ohio too?

McCain is winning big here. How does Obama win without Ohio? You dont care, stick to your beliefs.

Good job ignoring the FACTS

...but then, that's what you RepubliCANT sheeple-trolls do best, ignore the FACTS.

You'd better go check your information sources again...according to RealClearPolitics, Obama is AHEAD in Ohio!

*KAPOW* Dayum, I loves giving out Atomic Bitch-Slaps™ first thing in the morning!

MCain is ahead in Ohio

48% to 40% according to Rasmussen. Ohio is RED just like I told you. Hillary makes Ohio BLUE

Hillary makes Ohio BLUE

Yes she would. All those dems plugging their noses to vote for her would turn them blue.

Hillary beat Obama by 400, 000 votes in Ohio.

Now Obama loses Ohio to McSame.

Hillary beat Obama by 400, 000 votes in Ohio.
Now Obama loses Ohio to McSame.

So we know who to blame if the Hillary voters do not show up.

We Democrats

blame you. McSame will win Ohio by at least 55% to 44% easy. Hillary would have won Ohio by 56%

By nonexistent manJuly 25, 2008 - 5:42am

Nice one! Now we have to drag Huff out of Lake Erie.

Why cant Obama win the big state

of Ohio when senator Clinton can? Bill Clinton won Ohio twice.

Is Rush telling you ditto heads to continue with "Operation Chaos"?

Talk about hard up

McCain's people can feel their grip loosening--scooting closer to a full stop--no more wind.

I'm tired of dealing with him in a civil manner

He's just a RepubliCANT sheeple-troll in Progressives' clothing. All he's going to do is keep whining about "Billary this, Billary that, Billary won, Billary blah blah blah blah..." and disrupt the boards.

He's killfiled now.

He's a fool. Right now he is having a fit and he's adamant about the "last word".

I say let's let him post his opinion and ignore. The last word doesn't mean shit. But if he gets it he'll go back to bed.

McCa....oh look, he's disappearing

The old one who can't get publicity..the one who didn't muster a cheering throng..he had to settle for a processed bratwurst in Fresno, serenaded by his wife Cindy's beerfarts....Dänke, baby!

splain this one Lucy,

Obama scheduled to visit wounded GI's. Was told he would have to follow rules like only military media would be reporting. No campain staff or MSM would be allowed. In other words, no photo opportunity with screaming fans. Oh well, I guess we will go shopping in Berlin.

Way to support the troops!

"Political Correctness is a doctrine, fostered by a delusional, illogical minority and rabidly promoted by an unscrupulous mainstream media, which holds forth the proposition
that it is entirely possible to pick up a turd by the clean end."

Talking point of the day.

Only every other right wing ass clown has broadcast that lie today. Try thinking for yourself instead of having Limbaugh or O' Reilly do it for you.
Damn you fascists are pathetic.

By thaelmann37 July 25, 2008 - 11:00am

He's just bitter because his party has been deprived of the "Obama is visiting the troops just for the campaign photo-op" smear.

Obama saw the wounded in Iraq and Afghan.

His Pentagon advisors called him off seeing the Germany-stationed wounded, because Germany was strictly a political leg of the tour.

Imagine a President that actually takes advise of the Pentagon experts--fresh concept wouldn't you say? Obama is not full of himself like "delusional flyboy".

And unlike the Chimp, he doesn't visit the troops, saying

how much he supports them while at the same time making sure the VA denies many of them care for PTSD, traumatic brain injury and more, all in an attempt to save money. Nor does Obama profess to support the troops when he is with them, yet allows the VA to care for them in appalling conditions like those seen at Walter Reed. Nor, unlike McCain, does Obama take advantage of a generous GI Bill, and then turn around and tell the vets of Iraq and Afghanistan that they don't deserve as good a package of benefits as he got.
