Bush's record of selecting his chosen administrators is underwhelming (e.g.,selecting an A.G. that had been defeated in a bid for Gov. of MO, knowing the people of MO had elected a dead man on the ballot in preference to Ashcroft). And remember "good job, Scooter" ? You can recall many examples, too, I'm sure. I don't use the word "feckless" often, but I've applied it to the current administration numerous times. Actually thinking of them as merely feckless is a generous compliment, compared to seeing their actions as deceitful, criminal, unconstitutional, etc., (i.e., ignorance is preferable to evil); I'll limit my comments here to the intellectual poverty of our alleged-President and puppeteers, leaving matters worthy of impeachment & indictment to another time).

McCain's campaign is being guided by a Rove-clone, so we naturally see him acting in the same questionable manner. McCain has repeatedly shown us that his decision-making lacks intelligence and vision (just as Bush's has). And one wonders why it doesn't concern him that his candidate's ethics are currently under investigation in Alaska. McCain's words and views mean nothing, because he continually contradicts himself, and seems not to recognize his own inconsistencies. Is that who we want speaking for us to world leaders? Perhaps he doesn't plan to talk with world leaders. His crony Bush dispensed with statesmanship and elected to send bombs instead of talking (more fecklessness -sending insufficient troops to an illegal war in the wrong country, ignoring the advice of generals who then disappeared from his circle of advisors, entering war without an exit strategy (never read The Art of War?), failing to shift his strategy given new information (thinking "stay the course" was a virtue), failing to observe the Geneva convention in terms of treatment of prisoners, shaming the US in the eyes of the world...

The fact that McCain doesn't seem to have the capacity for incisive analysis is frightening. His moods range from laughing at his own "bomb, bomb, bomb, bomb, bomb Iran", to sudden eruptions of anger, to immature name-calling... Now he selects someone as VP that is less vetted than those he has consistently attacked as unready for the presidency. Does he thinks female genitalia are what make Hillary such a compelling figure in the world? Does he think Palin surpasses Romney, Pawlenty, Giuliani (none of whom surpass Biden)? He again fails to demonstrate the judgment that we need in the oval office, by selecting someone who has never been involved in national or international venues, and is currently under federal investigation. Has he no more concern about ethics in government than Bush has shown? God help us. There's a LOT McCain doesn't get.

Compare that to Obama's clarity, organizational ability, integrity, humility, intellectual prowess, commitment to the well-being of people and the world, dedication to hard work in the service of others, wise selection of advisers & co-leaders, respectful response to all (including his opponents), sound judgment, ability to unify and draw people together for the benefit of the nation...

May 30--JUNEAU -- With the latest poll showing her approval rating at 89 percent, Gov. Sarah Palin may now be the most popular governor in the nation.
