So What Can We do

All of us left wing nut jobs that believe that propaganda. I've worked and lived w/these righties all my life. How can I convince them when Druggie has all the answers that make them feel better. This is partly why the polls look the way that do. We need to gather together bajillions of dollars and buy back the media. Make it left wing like they've been claiming it is for all these years. Better yet, make it truly fair and balanced...socialist. Not dependent on any bottom line.

You will never convince these people

They aren't conservatives or anything else but weak-minded authoritarian followers. They follow neocon ideas because these ideas have been marketed to them in a way that sounds "strong" and "manly." These are the same kinds of people who were the Hitler Youth beating up Jews, Stalin's NKVD lobotomizing dissidents, and good 50s patriots informing on their "communist" family, friends, and neighbors. If Chim-Chim gets his martial law, they will be our guards in the detention camps.

You don't have to burn books to destroy a culture. Just get people to stop reading them.

No, they are conservatives

Please liberals, let's stop this nonsense of saying "neocons aren't real conservatives" or "bushies aren't real conservatives". Yes, they are. This is what conservatism is. They may not represent all conservatives, but the vast bulk are indeed like this. The conservatives got exactly what they wanted when Bush stole his elections, made the presidency a mini-dictatorship, and the conservatives in Congress went along. They can't now say that isn't real conservatism, and liberals shouldn't let them get away with it.

You think it's difficult for regular Iraqis? Ask about the more than a million CHRISTIANS that lived in Iraq in 2004. WHERE ARE THEY NOW????

Chrsitians in Iraq

deanrdd -- There were some Christians in Iraq, and we don't know what happened to some of them (witness reports of Christmas celebrations in Iraq, trotted out every time), just as we don't know what happened to many sunnis and many shiites, and other religious groups. War is hell for everybody, including Christians.
