The Denver Adventure: Day 2 - Michelle Obama Wins The Day

Listen: GA Rep Sanford Bishop Interview
August 25, 2008
You can listen to Georgia Representative Sanford Bishop's thoughts about Michelle Obama's speech at the Democratic National Convention. Bishop, a more conservative Congressional Black Caucus member who often supports military spending, was very impresed with the speech and also discusses happenings in Georgia as we approach the November election.
Allow me to say, however, that I thought Michelle Obama was simply magnificent. By the end of the speech, I was in tears (the Kennedy tribute may also have softened me up a bit) and those girls just blow me away. You have read it here first: my two sons will be marrying the Obama daughters.
Michelle Obama is everything you could ever want in a friend, in a mentor, in a leader, and in a partner. I have said to many people, particularly our purist friends on the Left, that concerns about Obama being just another Democratic face must confront the reality of Michelle Obama. I know where Barack's heart is ... and I also know even more about where Michelle's heart is.
If we win this election, the White House will be holding a first family like none other in many, many ways. And it will be celebrated by all! What a night; what an ending! What a new First Lady!
